Power curve
All else being identical, I notice a significant power difference(responsive ness) between my Tilliston and zeinith carbs. Is the design that different? Have others noticed more power with a tilly?

Re: Power curve
I have not noticed any significant advantage of a Tilliston over a well built Zenith Carb.

Re: Power curve
Aloha,
Same here a lot more pickup with the tillitson carb. I was wondering if I was only the zenith carb I bought, what would cause that? Can it be fixed by changing the jets? |

Re: Power curve
Is there a similar improvement over a Tilly by using a Marvel Carb??

Re: Power curve
Am having a problem to get a good idle on our A w/a Tillotson carburetor. Truck sat for 3 months w/no gas in it. put in fresh premium gas (no ethanol) and it drives OK but doesn't idle worth a darn. Need to keep the GAV about 1/2 turn open, needle valve on carb 3/4 turn out, and still doesn't sound quite right.
Am considering pulling the carb and checking/cleaning all. Any suggestions of what to watch out for? Tnx, Ken

Re: Power curve
I use a model B carb on the tudor, and it has lots of go. The early 28 has a double venturi zenith, and it runs ok. I had two of them rebuilt about 10 years ago, but the guy who did them died. We are all getting older.

Re: Power curve
The zenith I have was professionally rebuilt & tested and definitely idles better and smother at lower speeds; the tilly just provides more power(When the zenith is on it is the same feeling as the timing being off-lower power)
