Here is what I have from the original tool stash, you can see the end is forged to fit the crank ratchet
If I was to repair what you have I would brake a pin in,, just a press fit would loosen most likely |

The car is a '38 but the engine a '46. The hole in the grill lines right up to the crankshaft nut. I've started it several times with the crank prior to the pin shearing. It starts quite easily. Handle at 7 o'clock, stand to the left of it and use your right hand, pull up and it starts before a third of a turn.

I made a crank for a 38 Ford and it worked on a 47 2ton truck. I used two roll pins, one inside the other - no problems.
