Repo sheet metal
Couldn't think of a better source to ask this question: Who makes the best repo sheet metal. Fenders, running boards etc for a 31 Model A? Thanks for your advice in advance.

Re: Repo sheet metal
The running board question is easy to answer. Tom Rootlieb recently reproduced the '31 running boards and they have the correct vulcanizing and the rubber dimples on the bottom side.

Re: Repo sheet metal
If you have the fenders try to save them, nothing fits like Henry's metal!

Re: Repo sheet metal
Thanks for the info. Mine are in fair condition and I will be able to use some of it, but not all. I saw the ones Mac's has, are they any good?

Re: Repo sheet metal
Rocket1 has good advice, use your original fenders if possible. New front fenders from Gaslight, I believe, are not made quite right from what I have heard. I have heard they dies are wearing out, but I could be misinformed. They take some fitting to look decent. If your car is a coupe like in your avatar, Albrecht Towing in Ohio make excellent coupe/roadster/pickup rear fenders. I bought a pair 6 or 7 years ago for my 28 coupe and they were excellent. I couldn't tell them for originals, although there might be some minute differences. I would think 30/31 rear fenders are just as good as the 28/29 fenders as they are quite similar. Again, I would try to restore the original fenders on your model A if possible as they fit and look right when done.

The front fenders are easy, they are all made by the same company and sold by all. "...they dies are wearing out, but I could be misinformed." Your not misinformed, they are worn out. A search will find many threads on this exact subject.

Re: Repo sheet metal
Several are selling floor pans in 22 gauge
That just won't do. Check with Steve at Bert's and tell him what you are Looking for and no 22 gauge |
