Default Engine Number

My grandfather & father bought a 1929 Model A CCPU in 1940 from a Ford dealership in CA. The Conditional Sale Contract list the motor number as A2095442. I have a Model B engine in the vehicle now.

Where can I find information about the motor number listed?

If someone is able to decode the engine number for me, I would appreciate it very much.

Thanks in advance.

All the engine number will tell you is that the engine/transmission assembly passed final inspection in August 1929 (ref: http://www.fordgarage.com/pages/ABenginenumbers.htm#C3). According to the judging standards it would have been installed into the vehicle up to 3 months later.

The Model B had no serial number on the engine as it appeared on the flywheel housing beginning in 1932. The boss where the serial number was stamped was still there on the Model B engine but it was blank.
