Default 1937 ford pickup universal

I was cleaning up the universal cup and noticed ware on surface no deep marks . How can you tell the universal needs replacing it didn't have a lot of grease in the cup when I took it apart thanks Tom

Cup?--- is this a stock driveline?---- the stock ujoint has bushings that are open at the ends, the cross should slide side to side, but there should be very little rotational play
