Default First Year for Ford Power Brakes?

What was the first year for Ford to offer power brakes on it's full size car? Of coarse I am referring to drum brakes.

Power brakes were a well publicized option in '54. (scroll down at this link)
"Swift Sure Power Brakes"

...and they may have been available on other makes/models before then,
but I don't see power brakes mentioned in these '53 Ford sales brochures.

1953 Mercury - Power Brakes and Steering. Same mounting for Ford except the bracket on the passenger side of the powering steering took a different bracket.

Lincoln and Mercury began with a (very primitive, shall we say) Power Brake set up in 1953...
Ford's actual first Power Brakes started in 1957.

They are shown and discussed in my '56 shop manual.

I had a 53 Mercury back in 1957 and it had power brakes but manual steering. Once in awhile the engine would stall backing down the driveway (it had Mercomatic) and the loss of vacuum dropped the brakes to the manual mode, it was a scary situation with no power brakes as it made a tougher pedal than the stock non power brakes.
