Default fordamatic kickdown adjustment

Could someone please send me a picture of how the fordamatic kickdown should look, I have the correct rod that goes down to the transmission and up the back of motor by the firewall. I am not sure I have the right accelerator linkage. Please post on ford barn or send to me at [email protected]

I ran a couple searches and didn't hit what I was looking for. Try over at yblocksforever. I think someone had a post over there with a drawing from the manual, and the adjustment procedure. Uses a pin thru a hole in the bellcrank, and sets from there or something. My cars ar manual trans, so I haven't dealt with it personally.

The engine and year definately matter. I had a 1963 f250 with a 292 and all the linkage was very different than cars.

Went with a different carb , had to create new kick down , Car is a 55 crown vic with 292 2 speed fordamatic. Used a special adaptor and replaced the tea-pot Holly carb with a carb from a ford 390. Works ok , Thank for your replies

Well, I was gonna attach some photos of the '55 2bbl, 272 intake with FordOMatic kickdown, but photobucket is not responding again.
That photo sharing site used to be okay, but at some point it became a zoo (unless you become a paying member)! Lots of ads popping in all while you try to navigate the site. It takes forever to see your photos and I only have 65 photos in there.

If your "2 speed Fordo" the stock trans from your '55, then in reality being an air cooled 3 speed... If so you should get a '55 Fordomatic Shop Manual (the light green book). This manual goes into detail how to properly adjust the "Throttle Control Rod" (Kick Down) for V-8 cars with four barrel carburetor. It also touches on band adjustments, which a lot of people neglect to do.
