rubber parts

Is there a place that sells mainly rubber parts for Model As? I can not find door window seals for my Cabriolet. It looks like a 5/8" ribbon of rubber with a small round section on one side that slides into the anti rattle/window seal holder. My tudor sedan was much easier to work on than this Cabriolet. But I love the Cabbie. I'm trying to fix everything that was not done correctly as best I can. Rear bumper brackets were a bear to get off and replace (old ones had been hacked up)

no one that I know of makes the correct replacement rubbers. the 68A`s & B`s use the same ones as the Briggs four door front doors. they do sell the whole replacements but the retainers are aluminum not steel as original. you need to install them when the glass is out of the door,

John, does Bob Johnson have any of the molds for casting these rubber parts??

You may want to try Steel Rubber products in their universal line and try to match up profiles. They only (incorrectly) list the window setting rubber with lip for Model A's but should be only for specific '31 body types.

I talked to Bob awhile back and he said he wasn`t making rubber parts anymore.
I would like to come up with the molds a material to make some other rubber parts. John

John, search on YouTube for rubber casting. I have done a limited amount and I need to build a degassing chamber before I go on, but the concept is very simple. I am going to the archives in the next few months, so if you will get me the part numbers of the rubber pieces you want to cast, I will pull them for you. Then draw them in CAD and use a 3D printer to make your pattern, and you can make your mold(s) from that.

Brent, it would be nice if someone made the rubber plugs for the 1928-9 Phaeton top irons bracket holes. Unbelievably the brackets were an extra cost item.

Tom, I do not have the part number for that plug, and have never been able to locate the print of it at Benson. Maybe you or someone else knows the number??

that is NOT the rubber seal on a 68B. that rubber is glass setting rubber for the slant window bodies door glass.

I can't remember if I ever found the number either, but if I did write it down somewhere, it would be hard for me to find it now. I'll see if I can get to my old computer and find anything.

Well, I took a windshield bottom seal and trimmed it off where the rubber angles. It slid into the channel that holds it fine and held in well. It looks passable. I did both sides so they match. Pictured is the new glass I had put into the frame.

Not to hijack the post but is anyone aware of a better source for the Victoria front window track? The ones that are available are not correct, the felt deteriorates and the bonding sticks to the window!
