Re: Let's See Your 1935 FORD !
Here's my '35's.... A mostly all original Rouge class fordor, a stock tudor standard going back together (very slowly), and purists beware!!, a tudor deluxe "traditional hot rod" going together. All of these cars are flatback sedans. I'm also hoping to add a '35 or '36 3W Coupe to my collection some day. So, if you know of a nice original or older restoration that someone has, and is willing to let go, please send me a PM......I promise it will be well kept as an original in my collection...... and yes I have already placed an ad on the Ford Barn and on other internet website wanted sections. I may also offer a finders fee
OK, so lets see all those '35 Fords that you have. We don't care what condition or stage of construction that they may be in

Hey Mike,
My old `35 doesn't look much different than the day I brought it home, but mechanically it is a whole lot different. I have rebuilt just about everything mechanically. Shadetree |

Re: Let's See Your 1935 FORD !
Here's my Aussie roadster. Purchased this car when I was 19 and owned it for 25 years. It's a runner, but not currently registered. The coupe I helped my father restore in the late 80's but is now in SEQld. The phaeton I purchased 18 months ago is completely stripped. It's look great in this photo but was in very poor condition. Not using much of the original car as parts were too far gone. Mechanicals for the rebuild and frame are near completed but body work still have alot to go. Most panels are done and I'm using a body shop to piece together the body parts as it's too big a job for me at this stage.

Re: Let's See Your 1935 FORD !
A while back Troy, a new guy at work, learned that I messed around with old cars and mentioned that he had a '34 Ford 3 window on his uncles farm. He said he would never do anything with it and said I could HAVE it! It took about two years to get his aunt to send a picture. Turned out it was not a '34; but a '35 or '36; but the price is still right. A couple of months later Troy and I made run out to the farm about 50 or 60 miles somewhat west of Minot, North Dakota to pick it up. Troy said it had been sitting there since '72 or so and we found it had sunk about six inches into the ground. Lucky the climate
out there is really dry and soil must drain well as there was only one small rust hole in the right lower cowl. Good news the fenders and boards were laying next to it and the and all the garnish, regulators, locks, etc were stacked inside. We got it loaded (learned why it took so long to get the picture, Troy's aunt and uncle do nothing quickly, great folks though), tied down, and hauled it home, all for the price of diesel and dinner. The bad news is I have had it for about ten years now and have collected all the parts I need; but have not done any actual work on it yet. Maybe this summer or maybe my kid will get it afterall, he's had his eye on it since it came home. |

This one has been in our family since 1946. My dad bought it when he got out of the army after WW2. I know its not the way he would have done it but its making slow progress.

Re: Let's See Your 1935 FORD !
Here's my tudor when I bought it in Aug. 08. Had been in the corner of a heated shop since 1966. Had it running like a good watch in an hour.
Here it is last summer after paint on most of it and cruising around town. Here it is last week. I finished the hood and I'm working on the interior. Hope to put some miles on it this summer. Fairly stock, with many early '40s accessories, mechanical brakes all redone with Flathead Teds kits. |

We restored our 1935 Ford convertible sedan in 1975. It has all the accessories including the Columbia rear axle. We have driven it for may trouble free years. Without having a heater, it is a great summer touring car.

Ok fellas,
It took me a while to figure out the picture size thing, but I think I got it! Here is my 35 Tudor Deluxe, which has come a long way since this pic was taken, and my 35 Convertible Sedan, ( you're my hero Don!) which is also much much farther along than this "as found" pic. Also thanks to JM35 for all his free advice!! LOL! |

Re: Let's See Your 1935 FORD !
I found this 35 in 2007, out of Covina CA. Rust Free, lucky me. I took the body off and did up all the running gear. Now is Chev power.
I left the body and paint as is , and added decals . It has great Patina. Hope you like it as much as I do. Pete from Oz. |

It is on it,s way Downunder to OZ. I also found another 35 3 window in Sonoma CA. this year. It is in Oz right now.Click on my Avatar for album pics. You gotta love the 35,s Pete from Oz. Last edited by Pete from OZ; 11-24-2012 at 02:49 PM. |

Re: Let's See Your 1935 FORD !
I know how one can feel about a ’35, especially a 3W. Had one when I was a kid…stored in a friend’s friend back yard. Starting looking at girls, and eventually forgot about the coupe. It vanished over time. Stupid girls! About another 25 years later, I found one…but the deal eluded me. Don’t ask. Stupid me! For the last 25 years after that and still dreaming and looking, I got it. Complete, rust free, running, stored maybe 50 years…no more fooling around, I got it. Getting smarter as I get a lot older…I think! Enjoy working on it every chance I get. Story in a nutshell. Robert

Hi guys - Here is my conv. sedan. Its been complete for a year now after a 20 + year restoration. I've had the car for close to 40 years and finally got serious about ten years ago.

Here is mine. I call it a 35 and a half. It's a 1935 body with 1936 sheet metal fenders hood and grill. My friends think I am crazy but I am going to return it to all '35. What do you guys think?

Re: Let's See Your 1935 FORD !
Return it to 35 front sheet metal, much more elegant than that "late model stuff: !
Your car looks great, I can understand your friends reaction but if you have all the parts go for it and let us see the pictures. I realise I have just upset a lot of 36 owners, apologies but I am biased. |

Here is mine. I got her back in 1996 when my Uncle passed away. She was all taken apart and in boxes. I put her back together again as a tribute to him.

Re: Let's See Your 1935 FORD !
Here is one I bought in 2011. I wish it had been a 3W coupe, like I had in high school, but could not make a deal on the ones I found prior to buying this 5W. It is mostly stock, has nice solid sheet metal and a nice interior. We recently removed the engine and transmission to go through them and clean them up. Found the engine to be a bored .030 over rebuilt LB block with little or no cylinder wear (oh happy day!). This car will not get restored by me, it will become my second driver. Gotta love these '35's!!

Had an opportunity to meet some UK early Ford V8er's and see their cars during my visits over in 2010 and this year. Actually had some great rides in a '36 roadster. I could post some pictures of some of these UK cars if anyone is interested. They are not all 35's though.

Roger, thanks for posting more pictures of your model 60. Looks like it is coming along very nicely. That water pump looks the same as some of the pumps used on our 60 hp engines.

Re: Let's See Your 1935 FORD !
Here's mine. Mechanically restored 3 years ago. Body will stay as is with 80 years of storys etched, welded and banged into it. My view is that its like a younger fellow coming home from the war, been given dad's old car and its used a tad roughly.
I understand its got some incorrect fenders and perhaps front clip but Im loving her with all the faults.

MIKE" Mike, I don't quite agree with you on that....the "X" on the side of the cowl is also a feature of most late '35's.and all '36's. Two of my original late production '35's have those X's on the sides of the cowl.

Mike, there is still a lot for all of us to learn about these early Ford V-8's. Here are pics of the two original late model year production '35 tudor sedans that I have. One is a standard and one is a deluxe.

My cabriolet again, this time with top down. Picture taken a few nights ago as we watched the sun go down over the sea.
Great top down driving but it shows up my scabby interior, saving up for that, hopefully next year. |

Re: Let's See Your 1935 FORD !
If you could post pictures showing the full view of the cowl side panel, and the feature at the top of the cowl that keeps the hood propped in the open position, we could better determine if body is '35 or '36. But as you say, a mix of '35 and '36 parts should not stress anyone out. The end result is still a great looking car.

I bought a wonderful collection of negatives out of a basement in our town. In fact it was in the basement of the Studio in the photo below. Here's an interesting one.
Obviously of the pretty lady on the horse, but the '35 sedan interested me. It has artillery wheels of some sort. Anyone recognize them? Here's a close up of the wheels. Envelope the negs were in says "Rodeo, 1946"

It's a funny thing, growing up 1935's were never really on our radar as far as adding to the collection. Now there are 3.

He drove the roadster to the LARS last year with my nephew . they hit a cattle grate at the end of an offramp ,,ended up "standing on a corner ,in Winslow Arizona " broke a couple tranny lines . the 3window has been sold and is now a 100pt show car perfectly restord . Still working on the 36 roadster pic-up.. And the humpback ?? well, I saved the firewall an dash. the rest is just,,, RESTING

My 20,000 mile English Rip van Winkle coupe. Scarcely used since the first owner died in 1940, spent 35 years in Chicago (does anyone remember Bill Bass, Car Credit Center, 7600 S Western?) before coming home to UK. Fitted with V8-60 from new (that motor was designed for the European market). Just finishing the re-commissioning work - motor is rebuilt, brakes need setting up right, and minor wiring to sort out, but we have been out and about last summer.

Re: Let's See Your 1935 FORD !
Thought I would add my pictures of Glenn Sanders '35 Deluxe Tudor Sedan to this thread. Watch for this car at the Early Ford V-8 Club of America 2015 ENM in Charlotte, NC and the CNM in Minnesota. I'm sure Glenn will appreciate having you stop by and see his car in person.

Re: Let's See Your 1935 FORD !
Some real beauties here!
John - It's difficult to see the true hues of the oem greens under artificial lights, (and my color perception is not the best) but I'm wondering if the darker green on the body at least is Dartmouth Green? (Thinking of painting my '36 that color) |

Glenn has another post here with some different pictures of his car that might show the colors better than these pictures. https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showthread.php?t=156394

Re: Let's See Your 1935 FORD !
Thanks for the link, John. Believe the color is either Dartmouth or Vineyard Green.
The later is slightly darker, if my limited color vision is correct. Robb |

Re: Let's See Your 1935 FORD !
I saw this beautiful 1935 Ford Roadster in Oakhurst, California, in 2005. This car helped to inspire me to get back into the old car game.

Re: Let's See Your 1935 FORD !
That is a very nice looking 35 5w RS coupe. A V-8er friend told me that 35 standard 5w RS coupes were pretty rare. Since then I have seen five/six in the MD area, which includes the one I have. There is a guy who lives in your area on Marydel Rd who owns a very nice 35 sedan. Maybe you already know him. Would be nice to see you at an EFV-8 Club, RG36 meeting some time. A nice group of folks with similar interests in these old Fords.

Here are more pictures of Glen Sanders '35 Delx tudor sedan as a barn find prior to its restoration by Cannady Smith, a member of the old Fordbarn who lived in Virginia, and passed away last year.

Re: Let's See Your 1935 FORD !
If you think the pictures are stunning, you should see this car in person! I met Peter and saw his car at a show in Baltimore, Md last fall.
Hoping to see him and his car again this June at the EFV-8 Club Meet in Concord, NC

Re: Let's See Your 1935 FORD !
I don't know how to post pictures yet. I guess the Avatar will have to do. Bought the car after a total restoration. Have owned it 2 years and am still in love with it. I previously owned a '31 Model A DeLuxe roadster for 22 years. V8s are great.

Re: Let's See Your 1935 FORD !
I had white walls on my '35 Cabriolet, at one time. It sure did dress it up. I wish that I had bought white wall, when I changed tires, a couple years ago,
