Default 64 Galaxie removing ignition lock cylinder

The instruction are simple BUTTTT the key cylinder will not come out. Just turn the key to acc and insert a paper clip size wire in the pin hole and turn counter clock wise more and pull it out. Well it comes out about 1/8 inch and that is it.

I am replacing both lock cylinder and ignition switch. Maybe drill until it comes out. Any suggestions????

Does it require the bezel to be off? Been to long for me to remember.

well, I drilled out the key cylinder. The switch assembly is twist locked to the bezel ring and they are retained by a compression spring. Interestingly the ground post out the back of the the switch has a metric thread.
