I use the license plate holder that go on the tail light & mount it on the front bumper. Works great & does not block the radiator.

Relocate the front license plate down to the front bumper using a stock tail light license plate bracket. While you are at it, stiffen the license plate to prevent its cracking. I use a backing of 1/4" thick Plexiglass. A steel sheet metal backing about 1/16" thick works too.

Since you want one like you already have check to be sure it fits (maybe with a little bending) and then place a wanted ad for the bracket, or look for a repro. I think they look better than when they are attached to the bumper but that its just my opinion. I was always happy with mine hanging from the headlight bar.

I also like the front license plate hanging from the headlamp bar. I have another plate I want to mount and it is license plate size at 4"X 12",an original license plate topper although big. It is a "Repeal prohibition " item that was never in the right time frame for my '37 and newer cars over the year. I probably need to mount it in the rear somewhere. Concerning the front plate position after all these years Ohio has just signed into law the need for only a rear plate. This is after I looked for quite awhile for a pair of '31 plates that were no wider than 12" Some if not most Ohio plates back then went to 14". I may still use the front after tediously restoring last winter. Thank you for all the suggestions.

Werner, has your car been imported after or before the war? Or did Ford build cars in Deutschland? It is a very nice car by the way.

(Off topic, I know)
History, that's the car:

Unfortunately, I have no contact with the previous owners. Very bad, because I would like to know more about the prehistory.
