Default radiator filters

I am about to put new radiators in each of my 28's. The block is thought to be reasonably clean however I don't want trash entering these new investments.
What are your thoughts people on radiator filters.
Thankyou in anticipation for your responses. g

Use a nylon stocking. Cut the bottom part of the leg off and place the open end over the upper water neck inside the hose, and the toe about equal to the top part of the upper hose. Been using them for years.

I bought this at Amazon and installed two screens and gave 1 to my wife. They come 2 per pack.

I am using the Gano filter. So far working great at keeping the crud out.

thankyou all for your input. I used the Gano type and in the first run of about 900 miles I pulled a good tablespoon from the filter. This was otherwise going to lodge in my new radiators. I liked the tea strainer too but was unable to acquire a two inch one locally.
thanks again all. gary

Just be very careful with a filter on the cooling system.

Please remember, Model A’s are “syphon flow” aided by a water pump for higher speed assistance. Flow is about 36 to 38 gpm. Modern cars are 100 gpm plus.

If your filter starts to restrict flow, you could be in trouble fast.

If you have completely cleaned out you block? That along with your new radiator could be all you need. Enjoy.

Thankyou for the reply. The head and block were cleaned with the head off to fit a new head gasket. Not like a rebuild when cleaning is easier so the cleaning wasn't squeaky clean. I would think very little rust will be loose in system now. The temp didn't get hot by1, the temp gauge on the cap and 2, one of those infra red temp readers, the point and read type. Don't recall the correct name for them. cheers, gary

yes this fitted snuggly. a good idea but one would need to check it frequently to ensure it was clogged and thus restricting flow. I think a temp gauge would need to be fitted to operate in conjunction. thankyou old 31.

A review of mine on the Tefba filter.

https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showt...ighlight=Tefba

Addition info/update - I called V12 multiple times about the magnet, was promised it, and never received it. Have since converted to the Gano. I just feel it is handier to check it visually every time I am under the hood.
