Dlfrisch may be using Tapatalk instead of a web browser. Yes, the advertisements on Tapatalk are annoying (because they hop around while you read and make you lose your place when reading longer threads). Sometimes, the same exact ad is repeated multiple times on the same thread. Presumably, that annoyance is supposed to “encourage” the user to pay $4 or $5 per month for a subscription. For ~$50 a year or so, I’ve managed to put up with them.

Here is an example ad in Tapatalk. The ads tend to scoot around quite often, especially as you navigate through a thread.

Today, the Tapatalk ads are much more aggressive and very annoying. They open, full screen, by themselves, and you have click to find a way to close them.

All of the offending ads seem to be cartoonish, maybe ads for a video game? I wouldn’t think that many Model A folks play a lot of video games. I would think that video games would be for a different target market.

Anyone else seeing this behavior on Tapatalk?

Tapatalk is handy since it ran okay on my iPhone in the past. Fordbarn.com is a little wonky in the Safari browser on my iPhone, but it works great on a desktop computer. I’m seriously considering deleting Tapatalk. It’s almost useless now.

Oddly, it’s the same silly ad (which pops up in full screen mode by itself and wants to run for 30 seconds at a time) that is being the nuisance, over and over again, and I can’t even tell for sure what it is advertising. What a waste of advertising dollars. [emoji38]

I use Firefox on my iPhone and just pull up the desktop site. You're right, some things are a little wonky but I usually save long posts or pictures for when I use my desktop.

I had something funky going on with my android cell phone. Occasional random fully page ads in my gmail, texts, and browser. I have Verizon and Spectrum, took the phone into a Verizon store. They have special software they run on your phone, and found something had downloaded on my phone which was hidden from user's view/control. They removed it and installed their virus app on my phone, and told be to stop using Internet Explorer, so am using Firefox. Issue gone/has not reappeared.

Thanks for the tip. Firefox seems to work better than the other browser I tried on my iPhone.
