39 Ford Frame Differences
I'm tearing down my 39 Pickup for cleanup, new brake components and freshen up.
I have no clue if this is the original frame. My question is, at the moment I cannot see the master cylinder from the top. I thought these were mounted under the floor boards. I'm curious if someone has swapped a car frame for the pickup frame? Do any of you know where the M/C should be located on the 39 Pickup versus the 39 Car? I'm not worried about it as I could always cut an access hole, but it seems odd.

Re: 39 Ford Frame Differences
Should be same spot, under the driver's feet. '39 pickup has a wood floor board with an access hole to refill the M.C. Maybe a few pictures would help.

Re: 39 Ford Frame Differences
Of course, I'm at work and the truck is in storage. I'll be on it later today. I have not figured out how to post pics on here other than my display. Yes, it's connected to the pedal. Yes, there is a wood floor, but the M/C seems to be under my seat platform. I'll definitely dig into it. The body is coming off, new M/C, wheel cylinders, lines, etc. I was just trying to find out if there were location differences in car and truck frames. I have reason to believe the frame was swapped.

Re: 39 Ford Frame Differences
The rear diagonal chassis sections on a pickup have several round cutout sections on each side like the convertible. The sedans/coupes have only about 3 each side from memory. Kube will know for sure.

Re: 39 Ford Frame Differences
The 1/2 T's were actually called "commercial cars". Most but not all of the mechanics are the same as the cars. A car frame would have body mounts on the outside of the frame rails but those can be removed and the frame can be used for a 1/2 T.
