Rubber Cushions on 28 Leatherback Windshield Pillars
Minor item but curious what people have done. Behind the windshield on the windshiled pillars of the 28 leatherback I am restoring are two small rubber cushions, one on each pillar. There is a round cut out in each pillar for this rubber piece which I assume is to cushion the windshield frame when closed. When taking apart the car both basically crumbled and fell apart - both were very dried out and fragile. Just curious what people have used to replace these cushions and any specifics on whether they stuck out from the pillar much or were flush. One of those minor detail things that come along that can drive you crazy.
Thanks in advance for any help! |

Perfect picture! That's the cushion - not sure what the real label is. Mine crumbled or I would have kept them. Any ideas what to use to replace. I don't see repros through the vendors.

I just purchased a set of these bumpers for the front folding top header on my 68C Cabriolet & had installed them before you originally e-mailed me. They might work OK as they are about the same size. I still think you could find some at a local hardware that would work as these were a little pricey. |
