Default Condenser/Coil Compatability

My favorite car is a bone stock 6 volt positive ground 1951 Ford V/8. Without any other changes, can I install one of Bubba"s $32.00 condenser and the "Blue" Bosch 12 volt coil?

Roger,

You could but i wouldnt suggest it.
The 1951 Ford loadamatic is one of the best ignition systems ever made, especially when used on a stock engine. NAPA ( Echlin) makes some of the best parts for the distributor ever made and they just dont have any problems when ran with these good parts.

CS753 CONTACTS
FA66 CONDENSOR
FA78 DISTRIBUTOR CAP WITH BRASS CONNECTIONS
FA67 ROTOR

AND IC8 IGNITION COIL

I too have been looking for the best combo. of coil and condenser on a Helmet distributer with coil converted to be mounted externally ... 1937 21 Stud....running on 12 Volt neg ground..I'm going to send an extra Helmet to have bubba do his magic on it ...The one we're using now only has 45 miles on it....The coil has a resistor now and we'd like to get rid of that..This is for a friends car ,,not my 48....Any help would be appreciated .....Thanks Guys..

I use the air cooled VW Bosch coils and matching condenser . In the VW business for 45 years and may have seen 4 failures.
