Re: blueprint of ?
Yes it looks like a Miller/Cragar head. Anyway I can get a full size or a good digital copy of that?

Re: blueprint of ?
I would also like a clearer photo, if possible. It's definitely a OHV.

Well, most are pretty close with guess. It is an OHV head and a special head. I was going to wait for Jim B to look at it , before revealing. He is the only one that I know of who has this type head, as it's kinda rare. This was Millers first attempt at the OHV head for sale for A/B. Eventually , with mods, turned into Schofield/Cragar/Denver, etc ..heads. This is blueprint for the MIller 'slope-sided' OHV Head. There may be some out there somewhere, but I've only seen one ever. Wonder if Jim has even seen this before ? BTW...not mine, so can not get/make copy, sorry. Last edited by hardtimes; 03-21-2018 at 01:13 AM. Reason: .................... |

Yeah, so would I...ha ! While this head was start of Miller/Schofield venture into A/B OHV Head, it was not ideal design, from a cooling aspect. The 'slope' side was where the later version (Schofield) made it square side and added extra cooling passages/capacity. So, if a person were 'deep pockets' and needed to do an expensive project, IMV, this would still not be worth spending on because of the cooling aspect/expense vs ROI. I am neither a engineer nor foundry man, so opinions may vary on this. A survey of guys like you/me , might garner a few takers, but not enough to make it worthwhile to the maker. |
