1934 seat frame brackets
Is there a source for the metal brackets that secure the back to the sides of the wooden seat frame on a 33-34 coupe? Are all four brackets the same?

Re: 1934 seat frame brackets
from memory, there are two small angle brackets near the top, say 1" formed angle, about 2-3" long, and the bottom is the steel thingy shaped like the seat side and spot welded to the pan. i can take some pics tomorrow if you wish, skip

I think Macs have the lower ones .if your using a modified sedan seat then you need to add about 2"to the bracket at the inner bottom

Re: 1934 seat frame brackets
here's some photo's of a 3w coupe seat. the bottom brackets were stamped so that the screw holes are raised, and the top edge rolls over the wood at the front end. also, the bottom is folded over and crimped to the pan, then spot welded?. if you were to make them, i dont see the stamping as essential, just flat 16 gauge would do, original is thinner, maybe 20 ga. i could mail a paper pattern if you wish, skip

Re: 1934 seat frame brackets
Thank you for the pics. Looks like all I am missing is one more upper bracket. I thought there was another bracket in the bottom corners of the back as there is a notch in the wood but I guess not.

Re: 1934 seat frame brackets
I recently (2 months ago) bought a perfect set of repro seat plates for my 34 cabriolet restoration from Westcotts. From memory they were around the US$60 mark, and well worth it. Plus, they are great to deal with, courteous and prompt. I would highly recommend them. This in direct contrast to the fact that I'm still waiting for my floor pan parts from another supplier (B) more than 2 years on.

Re: 1934 seat frame brackets
that upper bracket you just hammer over in your vise! or, for no hammer marks, any metal shop would have a small brake, and a piece of scrap, probably made while you wait its so simple.

Re: 1934 seat frame brackets
Hi Everyone. Looks like a piece of frame-rail would be a good starter for one of those angle brackets.
