Default New to ford forum

Good morning everyone,

I wanted to introduce myself. I'm a new member of the "Ford Barn".

I just bought my first ford (antique) about 3 weeks ago. It is a 1934 cabriolet. I found it on the internet. It was located a couple of thousand miles from my home so I was unable to inspect the car or drive it before purchase. The pictures showed a beautiful car inside and out. The engine room looked good too. After talking with the dealer who was selling the car for a client, I was satisfied - this was the car for me. I hit the buy it now button because the price was so good.

I had driven several cabriolets here in Florida before I found this one in Idaho. The ones I drove in Florida all looked good on the outside but had junky mechanicals. The car in Idaho was over $20,000 less than the cars I had looked at in Florida. I felt I had a cushion in case there were any major mechanical issues.

It took almost 3 weeks to get it here to Florida. I was on high anxiety the whole time not knowing what will be delivered. The day came for delivery! I got the call that the car hauler was turning off the interstate and my car would be ready for pickup. When I arrived at the pickup site the driver had already unloaded the car but it was pouring down rain. We had to push the car to get it started but it ran great back to the house. I wiped it down with towels and was amazed at the condition of the paint and chrome.

The next day I was able to drive it around the neighborhood. It needs a new battery and I am having the shocks rebuilt.

I was very lucky.

It looks like a fabulous car. It's good to see someone come out the the positive end of on of these long distance deals. It kinda makes up for all the ones that went sour.

Ricosan, - Good for you! I'm envious. Does the radio work?.....
