There was some discussion in regards to the vacuum levels needed for a
load a matic distributor operation.
Heres the charts and a article on how it works.

Thanks Bubba. Yes, Loadomatic is very year specific. My old Holley manual shows the advance curves for different model years and carbs, and they all vary slightly. The carbs all give a slightly different amount of vacuum, plus the distributors can have different springs in them. My gutt feeling is that you can mix and match different year carbs and distributors as long as they are all Loadomatic style.

This is a butt confusing to me. Why is 49 early 50 different form late 50-51? The motor is basically the same so what constitutes the difference. I could see if it were higher compression or different gear ratios but nothing is really different that I'm aware of. My car runs ok but I have never really had the distributor set up and it makes me wonder if it could be better.

Bubba
Which vacuum level is on the text? 1.at venturi and 2.at throttle plate which translate to - 1. disty input or 2. wiper vacuum?

Did you mean to post a chart per your post or just the text? As I will use a calibrated vac gauge, it makes difference to achieve the numbers at rpm listed.

I believe the chart refers to vacuum applied to the distributor and distributor RPM. Ported vacuum will give you numbers close to that as your engine is running.
