Default 39 ford convertible value

Neighbor has one for sale not running, and some reassembly required for around 30,000. I’m thinking around 15-18,000. Had it for 30- 40 yrs. always in a huge indoor facility. Burgundy in color, not sure if it is deluxe yet or not. How do I tell the difference in std. and deluxe?

Could be wrong but pretty sure the Convertible came in deluxe only.

Value is going to depend on how much rust, how complete is if someone has butchered it and put a garbage truck engine in it. All original, complete with little rust will put it on the far side of 25K.

Look at what you can buy a nice car and drive it home, then divided the price in half. Lots of projects popping up for sale

The car on the left is a 1939 De Luxe and the car on the trailer is a 1939 Standard.

In '39 Ford only produced two Convertible styles, a TuDor Convertible Coupe with a Rumble Seat and a ForDor Convertible Sedan. I believe both Convertibles were only available in Deluxe trim. I have had my '39 Convertible Sedan for 29 years and I'm ready to let her go. She's all original except for a set of Red's Headers & Brockman Mellow-Tone steel packed mufflers. For some unknown reason, I can't get a photo to upload... If anyone is interested in knowing more about my '39 for a possible purchase, PM me. Thanks. Vic

The car on the left is a 1939 De Luxe and the car on the trailer is a 1939 Standard
My vote would be for the standard.

The car is a two door convertible. I hope to get some pictures later today. Would people on here give a quick price for it then.

Depends on if it is a 2-dr or 4-dr convert.
The value of each is significantly different.
There is a very solid '39 convrt. sedan project on the HAMB for 14,500.
It has not sold in over two weeks.
I have had both models and feel the 2 -dr is probably worth twice what the 4- dr is worth.
Demand for the 4-dr convert sedans isn't nearly as great.
They are both beautiful cars.

I thought that this thread was about '39 convertible values. Since all of them were deluxe models, the addition of standard models (all closed cars) to the discussion is rather off target.

Because a Standard was cheaper than a De Luxe.

Some folks -or companies- needed just a basic car.

No need to purchase a De Luxe and incur the additional cost.

So, the Standard was the choice for the economy minded Ford buyer in 1939.

I personally like to look of the standard front end compared to the deluxe. Definitely a personal opinion.

I like the look of the standard as well. Lloyd D's really nice 39 Standard was displayed at EFV-8 Central National Meet at Springfield, IL.

Interesting, but what has this to do with the value of a '39 convertible? That's what this thread is about. I'm with "DavidG" on this.
