Default Which pressure plate to order?

I want to replace the pressure plate setup in my 1935 Ford pickup with a 1948 flathead in it. The actual plate measures 9 1/2 inches. I ordered a 9 inch plate...it's too small. What to order? Where would I find the 9 1/2 inch plate for sale? I've seen 10 inch and 11 inch plates in catalogs, but not 9 1/2.

Thanks
Bob

What size was the disk that came out? My guess is what you have is a flywheel that accepts a 10" clutch.

I think deuce roadster is correct. If 9 in. is too small and 11 in.is to big, 10 in. is probably correct.

If it's a 48, then WHICH 48? If it came from a car, it would be a 59-type. If it came from a pickup, it would be an 8BA. Check 8BA clutch stuff. I think you will find a 9-1/2.
If it's 48 car, 59-type, it was originally equipped with a 10-inch. If it's an 8BA, look at 49-up car clutches.

edit... read hamb thread noted above by 19Fordy !!

My go to clutch people are Fort Wayne Clutch. They will rebuild what you have or send you what you need.

I never have owned an 8BA nor heard of a 9 1/2" old Ford clutch. Learned something new!
Bob1972, is that engine an 8BA?

Dual Friction Clutch Includes Pressure Plate & Disc
Part Number : 183-DF021221
I couldn't be happier and the price was right from Jegs (drop shipped from Centerforce).
They pretty much have all transmission applications (disc) covered

The 9 1/2 was popular in the 8 ba engines, and is a good clutch in it's stock form and lighter than the 10/11" . However they di have a different bolt pattern than the early 9" so the flywheel had to be redrilled for use on an early flywheel. Now tha i said all that. I don't know if the fingers will clear rhe early 1 3/8 input shafts. The one I have is in a 59 with a T-5 trans. At present I haven't driven it so??????
Learn sumpin every day.
