Default Roadster top: can't get the hang of it

I've never been satisfied with the way I fold the top on my roadster before I put the boot on. I've certainly experimented with different ways but always seem to have too much fabric to find a place for. It is a LB top so I know it is the right size. Car is a '29 standard. Thoughts ?

I have an LB top too, and I seem to recall that instructions came with it, which I cannot find now. Anyway, what I do is pull the rear flap through towards the front and drape it over the back of the seat. Carefully fold down the top, with the rear window resting on the rubber bumpers (I also put a folded up old towel there). Uncrimp any parts of the top folded-up with the top irons. It's usually pretty obvious if the material is binding anywhere. Just pull everything as tight and as straight as you can get it. Then put on the boot, or not. I sometimes do, sometimes don't. I kind of like the look without the boot occasionally. Hope this helps. My top is black. I know the tan material is a little softer and maybe it behaves differently. Hope this helps. Others might have a different way of doing it.

JBill: Thanks for your info. I'll go try it and see what happens.
