Default spark problem stock distributor 30 CCPU

running police head ..number 3 and 4 have strong spark number 2 is so so but number 1 is almost not enough to fire plug ..I have tried a different cap with same result also swapped plugs...whats going on here? SC

Check point gap should be .020

Check the distributor bushings for wear. If the shaft can move sideways it will upset the points opening and spark timing.

Also check the air gap between the tip of the rotor and EACH of the four pins inside the distributor body. Perhaps the gap on #1 and #2 is too great. The gap when using a standard head should be about 0.025, but you may want to experiment by widening that. My head is 6:1 and I find a gap of 0.030 works very well. Some people use an even greater gap.
