Here are a couple pictures I just took from underneath the car. I’ll probably end up taking out the transmission completely to repair the leaks before installing a new mount.

Ford thought the final mount system through 1948 was so good that they didn't need steady rods but when they fail, there is a bigger problem than just a failed mount. They probably should have kept the steady rods. Change it if you want but the improvement is not that much of an improvement.
Though I hadn’t mentioned the u-joint, I had thought about that as well..

I believe that when fitting a 37 style rear trans mount into a 35-36, there is some interference with the hand brake rod , which necessitates a bit of modification to the mount?
