Another rumble seat question
When I yanked the rumble seat cushion out to replace the handle and latch (both broken), two wood screws with fender washers fell out under the car. They had been screwed through the two 1/2" holes in the floorboard into the plywood base of the replacement seat. I had expected a peg/clip like most seat cushions.. My question is, does anyone know what the original hardware looked like?
Until I learn better, a couple of cable stops screwed into the bottom keeps it from sliding forward. |

Re: Another rumble seat question
There is no plywood in the rumble seat cushions. the backrest has two metal pieces that slide into slots in the rumble lid, and is held on the lower area by two screws to D nuts. The lower cushion is held in place by two loops on the spring that go through two holes in the seat riser.

Re: Another rumble seat question
No plywood should be in the rumble-seat area (either on the floor, or in the seats themselves). When I replace my standard trunk with a rumble-seat (20 years ago), the floor panels and seat frames were 'all' steel. Bought the whole lot from 'Mike's' and everything went together perfect.

Re: Another rumble seat question
By putting a couple of these optional equipment items back there should hold it until you get the issue resolved
