Default model a motor

Does anyone know what a running 29 model A motor is worth? Thanks

I have seen them go for a few hundred dollars. But, check it out and if: while running the coolant looks good and there are no bubbles, there's no undue water coming out of the exhaust, the oil looks fairly clean with no evidence of water in the oil (i.e., no whiteness to the oil), the block looks clean with no apparent leaks, the compression is an even 60 lbs or better across all four cylinders, and if you can stick a borescope into the cylinders and things look good, I would try to get it for $500, but be prepared to pay as much as $1,000.

IMO $1000 is too much without a complete inspection of the bottom end in addition to the above. Bottom end rework will probably cost more than the above if all needed attention.

I agree with aermotor. I have sold complete but dis-assembled A short blocks for $75.

All depends on what "running" means. If the block is good and known repairable, couple hundred...a newly properly rebuilt engine could be a few thousand. Can't help you much but its a pretty open question.
