Default Question about Wheeler-Schebler carburetors

I have heard that the Marvel-Schebler carburetor is good, maybe even better than the Zenith or Tillotson.. I have been scrounging around in the basket of carb parts and came out with 2 Wheeler-Schebler carbs that the patent shows were designed in 1917 and patents issued in 1925.. I'm not sure what they go to, but, I'm assuming a Model A and they look like they would fit fine..
Does anyone know anything about these critters?? Are they any good and if so where would one find parts ?? These appear from the outside to be in good condition..

There were so many auto manufacturers in that era that it would be difficult to know which all ones used them. I don't know if Ford used them or not but I haven't seen any evidence that they did. Marvel-Shebler carburetors are still being utilized on aircraft but they are now under a new name. They have had a few problems over the years with floats and venturis but all of the different models are robust designs and very reliable.

I doubt if the folks that produce the aircraft carbs would know anything about the early auto carbs. There are probably a few model specific restoration companies that might make parts for some of the more common models but I wouldn't know where to start looking.

From what I'm finding it appears that Wheeler-Schebler somehow became Marvel-Schebler in about 1928.. Maybe they're the same as long as they just say Made in USA with the patent #1536043..

Put you Pat. No. into this web site and read all about its workings. Doesn't really tell what it was used on but still interesting?
