Your price seems reasonable to me. There's a whole lot of time and effort you must have already put into this project. Thank you for making this available.
Just FYI, the 1935 and 1936 pickups and big trucks used the same grille shell and one reason for the elongate crank hole is that these two different models had different crank alignments. One of the pictures earlier shows this if you look closely at the lower grille shell panel behind the grille. It has two holes, one for the trucks and one for the pickups.

I have been told that there are long crank holes as well as short crank holes for these pickups. The one I am making is the long version, but shortening one isn’t too complicated if you can weld.

I’m still trying to determine a price, which is harder than it sounds. My goal is to break even, but I’m not sure if that’ll be possible with how much time I’ve spent programming, machining the tooling, and everything else that went into it. Does $65 sound fair?
Very fair. I’m in. Thanks. Tony

Sounds dirt cheap to me. Don't need one BUT very nice work.

I would love to know how you are making that piece?

Thanks for the kind words!

Kirkf, I machined male and female dies to be able to stamp them. The sheetmetal blanks are laser cut.

I listed these in the classifieds. I’ll have 12 available and will start shipping orders out next week.

Just thought I’d share the final product. Laser cut 20g cold rolled steel and die stamped. I tried to get the relief cuts and tangs on the back side of the stamping correct. It is pretty darn close to the 36 grill I have used as a guide for this project. Glad this one is done and successful. Now to fix my 35 grill and then start fixing my fenders. There is a possibility that I’ll be offering fender sections if I have to make tooling to repair mine. Thanks again for all the kind words. If any of you are still in need of one of these crank hole repair pieces, let me know. I still have some left.

Thanks,
Josh

Does it make sense to make the short version as well?

I think that people are thankful that you made this quality repair piece. The quality is excellent, the price is more than fair. You should refrain from making the short version until you get enough orders to make it worth your while. People could make their short hole grill into a long hole grill with this repair piece. What is the difference in the 2 grills other than one is short, the other is long ? Different supplier ?

Thanks, and I agree with the point you made. As far as the difference in length, I have seen them long and short. I only had access to a grill with a long crank hole, which was a '36. I'm not sure if '35 had long and short as well. It is easy enough to make the long a short. It's easier than making a short version long.
