I placed an order for some materials a couple of weeks ago, talked to a real person (who was very pleasant) and received the package a week later.

I just bought a seat cushion cover for an A pickup.Just the cushion cover, not a whole kit. They said sure,no problem, they called me back in a week and I went down and picked it up.I have no idea who Eppler is,this is the first time I've heard that name.

My 29 Tudor and 28 Phaeton upholstery kits both came from Classtique. They are good quality and stitched with the seams where they should be. I know some of the pickup seats from LBB had the seam in the wrong location in the past.

They sure don't make it easy to do business with them. I called 7 or 8 times and kept getting a recording. Finally I left a message but no call back. I finally tried early in the morning and got through. I placed an order for a top for my roadster pickup. After several days with no confirming email and no charge on my credit card, I called again. They can't find my order! I wish there were other alternatives.

Interesting thread. Purchased a front seat, fully upholstered with new seat springs at Hershey back in Oct. January delivery date. Today, kit arrives, not what I ordered. Wanted complete seat ready to drop into my car. In fairness, I need to get in touch with them Monday to see what we can do. Will update this board in case folks are interested in the outcome.

Just ordered mine from Mike at Classtique for my CC indented firewall '31 Budd cab. When I spoke with him it was like I was speaking to some one interested in what I was doing. I was formerly a LB customer , but with the change of ownership it was difficult to contact them. A few months ago I asked members of FB to comment on Mike's company. Some members who I trust their opinion said I would do well purchasing from Classtique.

I need an interior for my A, I am very interested in this issue. I always planned to use LeBaron Bonney but now that I have the money saved up I want to be sure about my choice.

Rumor is that Lebaron Bonney has filed for bankruptcy.

That may be. No response to my email or vmail today despite a big error on their part and a significant amount put down.

Bob, as it looks as though they are filing for bankruptcy, I pity the guys that put money down for orders and such. They are going to be SOL.

No $$ returned. No product delivered.

I guess I'm curious to what happened to such a stellar company with a past excellent reputation How did they go belly up? New owners didn't know what they were doing perhaps......

There is always a chance things were covered up and the new owners did not realize what they were getting into/extent of problems.

Where I worked, 3 years before selling the company lots of sneaky but legal things were done to inflate the value of the company. EX; deferred maintenance, inflated future sales projections, downplaying product/production issues, etc.

One of the other sites mentioned there was a rumor that they had a couple of key people retire, and they could not find suitable replacements with the production skill levels required.

I read that one of the employees bought the business end a year ago. Then came new owners for the building and an increase of rent forced him to more the custom business to Maine, reduce the sq footage from 50k to 10k and the cost per foot to rise.

His biggest mistake I see, and take to for what it's worth, was underestimating the loyalty of the customer base. Once he started to fall behind a note to all the major car clubs/groups was in order explain how the equity firm that owns the business was going to close the doors and he stepped in to save it. A statement to please bear with him as he transitions from labor to labor and management. A statement that it is his firm desire to provide the service and products people have come to expect.

I think this would have gone a long way. He alienated the customers and they found others to fill the void.

I hope it is not true, I pray things work out for him.
