I am a little confused about the proper finish for valve cover bolts?
I would anticipate ! NOT assume that unfinished is correct, but I also have seen raven or black are both correct ? for February of 1929 ? Thank you for your help ! Joe. |

According to the MARC/MAFCA Restoration Guidelines and Judging Standards, page 1-18 Revised 2016, they are UNFINISHED all years.
But plain UNFINISHED bolts, nuts and lock washers will rust in time. So what I do is clean them up super good till they shine. Then spray two coats of VHT Satin Clear paint on them and let them dry. This stuff dries hard. So far, so good. Pluck
