Default No key

I have a 1941 ford car. The trunk is open, I am trying to remove the handle the nut is loose. It wont come out, have no key for it, and it appears to be locked. any ideaws onhow i can remove it and change the tumblers.

You may want to contact 32Phil on the Barn. He makes keys for Hurd Locks and also repairs locks. He is very good and reasonable.

remove the nut and it should come out. maybe push the latch up to clear the openning in the lid.

If the keying for a’41 is the same as a ‘46, the code on the glovebox lock should be the same as the trunk lock. As I recall, you need the key to get the lock out of the handle.
