What to do next?
In the process of putting a new radiator & water pump on my new 30 A PU. Got it all tore down. Also new points, plugs and any other general little jobs that have been ignored these past few years. Should I do anything else? Of course I will grease and change all the fluids. What about pulling the oil pan and giving it a good cleaning? Would that gain me much?
Just want to get a few of these jobs out of the way before spring. Want to turn the key and go and enjoy when the good weather gets here. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. |

Re: What to do next?
Whether to drop the oil pan depends on the history of the engine. If it was rebuilt within the last 10,000 miles and good detergent oil was used along with regular oil changes, then you should be OK. If you don't know the history of the engine and oil, then it might pay to remove the oil pan and dipper tray to clean and check for metal, such as small babbit pieces.

Adjust the brakes, inflate the tires to 35psi, clean the battery post connections, check the battery electrolyte level.
