Re: Mike sent me to ask for help
There are several types of U-joint covers. The main types are the evenly spaced bolt pattern and uneven spaced bolt holes, without any protrusions like the early type had (28's). For a 31's, the evenly spaced type is correct. The housing parts are readily available. I think I might have a set of the evenly spaced type, but I would have to check.

Bert's or AZ Model A would have good used ones.

Re: Mike sent me to ask for help
I have a set im not using but will need to verify if even spaced or not...
now what condition are you going for? Fine point car with very visible stamped part number with no rust pits or dings ? or a good usable one that may have slight pitting and hard to read numbers due to rust? I have found the inner bowl us usually rust free due to its nature of being coated in grease/trans fluid, but may have a buncha dings dents gouges from u joints of yesteryear letting loose - doesnt hurt the function one bit (as long as there isnt a worn thru hole...) and wont be seen from exterior.

I second Carl's input, as I get good used ORIGINAL Model A parts from Bert's all the time. I have some such parts, but as Berts is half way closer to you...that will be less shipping cost also. |

Re: Mike sent me to ask for help
Don,
Send me an email and I can send you some pictures of what I have. I found an equal spaced set of U-joint covers and they are clean of grease and oil. My email is: [email protected]. Do you have the rear transmission bearing retainer piece - the piece that uses 4 bolts to secure it to the transmission? Rusty Nelson |
