Default Re: What drove you towards the Model A hobby?

It was my dad that got me started. At age fifteen he wanted to restore a model"A",the car of his youth. The restored car was to be my daily driver when finished. Of course I was happy just to have wheels. The restoration was a real amature job, with rear fenders welded to the body. Paint was by Earl Schieb. My Dads rules were"No drilling holes","No v8's" "leave the fenders on". Modifing the A or a B engine was OK,as were hydraulic brakes, dual tail lights with turn signals,16" wire wheels,(tires were cheaper). I also had push button relay start. The last engine was a "B" with a 3/4 cam 2 holly 94's, mallory distributor, and Ansen head. I drove it year round for 2 years, then kept it as toy for 11 more years.
