30 closed cap PU, thanks for the photos, but still need to know how to anchor the irons.

After really looking close, I see the piece I above was calling the frame, is not the truck frame.

Looking at picture 3 you can see a support arm mounting going up and attaching to the underside of the truck bed, yours also seem to have this. I currently do not know how this is attached to the bottom side of the bed. Towards the right side of your picture and my picture there is a hump, which goes over the axel. There are 2 more mounts, I do not know where they mount currently.

My hitch probably stabilizes the bumpers more than just having mounting like yours. Possibly as stated above you will have to fabricate a cross member if you are not happy with how it 1st turns out.

Yours is a one piece, for some reason mine is a two piece, the long piece with the hump and support to the Bed, the 2cd is the actual U shaped piece the bumpers mount to. On mine each piece is a different thickness and width.

Here's a couple of pictures showing how the rearmost support is mounted on mine. The front is mounted to the frame the same way as the passenger cars are.

Correct me if I am wrong, his seems completely different. In front of the axle (toward the cab), his mounting is via right angle lugs/holes. Yours has a mounting assembly coming down and bolting directly to the side of the long support going to the bumper.

I will be back at my A tomorrow, will look/take pictures of how mine is mounted there.

Am following through, to help and out of my own curiosity - No worries.

In those pictures (post #22) the front of the vehicle is to the left of the picture, rear is to the right. The pictures are of the rearmost (left) mounts as shown in the picture in post #17.

Guess I need to slow down, too much Diet Pepsi/Caffeine. I see now the angle of CarlG's pictures hide the "lugs". Hopefully the bracket/hanger assembly came witeh te bout parts.

That's a pretty slick installation - just that extra little bracket for the rear support.

Carl, I don't have another A to see those front two mounts. Could you describe where they are on the frame. Your 30/31 frame probably has the same holes as my 28/29.

Was back at the A this morning took some pics. Turned out interesting.

The hanger bracket that is the rear most attachment point that I assumed was attached somewhere in the bed area, is free floating, not attached to anything. Makes sense, would not want both frame and bed mounting, with the bed possibly moving around. It most likely attaches to something that does not move on cars.

The next attachment point on mine is near and above rear leaf spring , on the other end downward on the bracket has 1 or 2 bolts attaching it - could not tell from crawling under the truck.

The 3rd mounting is one bolt slightly forward or even of the shock area.

I also have come to the conclusion the rear end of mine was cut off, holes drilled, so the u shaped mounting could be moved closer to the fenders.

Hank, I'd like that photo if you have one please.

Beginning to get the idea how to approach this.

30 Closed Cab PU, like your first photo.

Seems like everyone does it differently.

Hi Russ,

Lighting wasn't to good in the garage. I think my rear hangers are the shorter ones.
