Engine Rebuilders
I have a 1927 Model TT and thinking about putting it back original. Anyone know of a reputable engine rebuilder within driving distance of Dothan, AL.
Anyone buy and have used the Gene French boring jig? |

Re: Engine Rebuilders
As far as engine builders in Alabama I would check the local T clubs and they will "steer" you in the right direction. I would recommend Pat's restorations in Monroe Connecticut but that's some distance.
My next adventure is learning to pour babbit and have talked with Mr. Gene French on the subject. I will be ordering his boring jig @ some point this fall, most people doing this work are using his equipment. |

Re: Engine Rebuilders
I just read tonight how to get it in neutral, my motor may not be stuck after all. Will tinker with it this weekend.

Re: Engine Rebuilders
I had a heck of a time trying to learn how to drive and shift just get it going and not run into anything. What a learning curve! I have an auxiliary trans in mine. I was panicking and heading for the garage. I almost had to change my underwear. I was about 10 feet away but everything to me is opposite. I have my truck on Ebay now, asked a little bit more but it is rust free and needs some work but not a basket case. It's a runner driver. I put some money into it and it looks good for a truck that sat for 20 years.
The pic on my avatar is when I first got it and the pics on ebay is where it is now. |

Re: Engine Rebuilders
You won't do better than Ross Lilliker in College Station Tx for an engine rebuilder. Probably a 6 hour drive from Alabamer, but well worth it.
