Snap-On spring spreader
Need some help.
Does anyone have any info on the snap on s9023 spring spreader? The snap on 1936 and 1937 catalogs I have seen on line all refer to it having a ball bearing ratchet assembly to take the thrust. I do not see any bearings in the one I just got. Am I missing something? Thanks, Will |

Re: Snap-On spring spreader
Will, I believe the thrust they are referring to is a bearing like the Model A king pin bearing. I have the 9023 spreader but no C shaped part for rear spring. The ratchet is just a reversible ratchet. The thrust bearings are between the tubes and screws.

KR500- I just got the c shaped part to go over the rear end center section. You are right, the bearing is just like a king pin thrust bearing. Mine was so dirty and nasty that it did not move at all. I took it out and after a good soaking in lacquer thinner I was able to free it up. I will post some photos after I finish cleaning it up. Will |
