'33 & '34 rad differences
I am installing a '34 rad in my '33. I had to fabricate hood latch attachment brackets to fit on the sides of the '34 rad, otherwise it fit great until I put on the rad cap and saw it was sitting about 1/4" high. I believe the rad filler on the '34 sits higher than on the '33. Can any barner verify my findings?? Thanks

I think the radiator is the same. The mounts on the frame are different

Re: '33 & '34 rad differences
The small mounting brackets that attach on the sides of the radiators are different. One of the two has a notch for the corner of the radiator to rest in, I THINK.

Re: '33 & '34 rad differences
That reminds me, I have a set of those brackets I should advertise.

Re: '33 & '34 rad differences
While the V8 Radiators are the same in 1933 and 1934, the Attachments that the Grille is bolted to are different. The top photo shows the complicated 1933 bracket, which also forms part of the Hood hold-down. while the bottom photo shows the 1934 bracket, which only serves to support the Grille. |

That lower (in photo above) for a 34 is also the hood latch!

Re: '33 & '34 rad differences
Johnboy, Thanks for the correction. Last night while I was in bed, after posting these pictures, I started to think about this and realised my mistake.

Re: '33 & '34 rad differences
Been selling Walker Radiators for many years and they list the same number for 33/34 cars and trucks. Just different brackets. Could they have been wrong all these years?

Re: '33 & '34 rad differences
I have a 34 Fordor and have had the radiator out for repairs this summer--Yesterday l looked at an original 34 pickup for sale with the radiator sitting beside the truck--It was identical to mine except for the brackets on the side--
