Brumfield 5.9 Head Copper clad head gasket , did you say the "gasket seams" go up on the block?

Mr. Smith, most people suggest that the seam (-which likely/often imprints the adjoin metal when torqued) is placed towards the cylinder head as that is easier to resurface than the block's deck surface.

Brent,
What? did you say, Im cornfused? "most people suggest that the seam (-which likely/often imprints the adjoin metal when torqued) is placed towards the cylinder head as that is easier to resurface than the block's deck surface"

So that would Be placing the Gasket "Up" on the block Is that correct?

Thanks,
Hugh

as the gasket sits on the block, the sem faces "up", toward the head. Put another way, the seam should contact the head. kp
