Default 31 Coupe roof install

I need to install the fabric roof on my new 31 Coupe. It has new wood, and chicken wire but I am unsure what to use for batting. I bought the video produced by the Diablo A's but it is a completely different install using Masonite and carpet. I don't want to remove the wire since it appears new and tight. I was wondering if foam rubber might work.I would welcome all helpful hints and suggestions to make the project as simple as possible. Thanks in advance . Harv.

Go to your local fabric/quilt store. "Warm & Natural" quilt batting would be just the ticket.
(My wife is a quilter and I practically live and breath the stuff.)

Foam will deteriorate in a few years. Cotton batting is correct, and only over the opening, not on the metal areas. Cotton duck goes under the cotton, so mice will not steal it. Coupes did not originally have chicken wire, only sedans.
Lebaron Bonney has the complete kit, or any part thereof.

Do a search and hopefully jim boehmke's coupe restoration will come up. He had some excellent pictures of installing the roof.

Thanks to all, I'll try the fabric department at Wal Mart to see what they have for batting and go from there. Thanks again. Harv
