Re: electrical issue
If the directionals are powered by the parking lites, when the the headlites are turned on the parking lites go out. Then no power to the directional lites??. It seems like somebody has the right idea, but may have mixed up some connections.......just a guess on my part....can’t wait to hear what the solution is!!.....I like electrical problems but it is much easier when it’s all right in front of you........Mark

Re: electrical issue
First of all, I would like to thank each and everyone of you for the recommendations and possible solutions. Thus far nothing has worked, so I officially SURRENDER (to this problem). I have intentions of completely rewiring the car and also a new digital Instrument cluster so now is the time to order new parts and move forward with that plan. The days are getting shorter and the weather will be changing so this gives me a great cold weather project. Considering I am on the plump side, I will able to completely remove the front seat for easy access to under the dash. Thanks Again to all

Re: electrical issue
A total rewire should fix it. It could even be something inside your current turn signal unit itself. I'm guessing that the turn signal connection to the lighting switch turns the light on the handle on when the headlights are on. There could be an issue inside the unit that is causing the problem when this light is switch on.

Re: electrical issue
I agree with the total rewire, and removing the front seat for access. You may even want to remove the dash and do that part of the harness right on your work bench. But, the digital instrument cluster, I would argue that the 49-51 dash is so pretty lit up at night. Have we seen pics of your car?....... Mark

There have been several detailed threads on posting photos. The big issue is the file size, the jpg limit is a bit over 500Kb. |

Re: electrical issue
If you use the existing indicator switch in your total rewire then you might end up with the exact same problem. You should find the fault first. Regards, Kevin.
