Default 31 Victoria on ebay

There's a 31 Victoria listed on eBay, $6,500 or best offer.

Rough car that is probably overpriced even though Vickies are hard to find.

A little shop that builds rods near me has been eyeballing that car.He has already decided to build a vicky,finding one is the problem.Transportation for that one is a bit of a problem,it is not near any normal corridors for east-west car hauling.Non-op adds to the price for an off the beaten path pickup too.If that car was only a few hundred miles away he would already own it.He is looking at one here to build from,dented and sound,but is a driver for $10,000.either way,I'm gonna get a free chassis out of it.(I get all of his A leftovers from a build)

Does a Flood/Water Damaged title affect a restored Model A value?

That 190A on Ebay is worth restoring to its original configuration in my opinion. Here is what I see from the pictures:
> Car is a leather-back;
> Unique rear valence panel below the body is there. It's a very scarce piece;
> Doors are there. Those doors are unique to the 190A and 400A;
> Slant windshield is there;
> Difficult to find rear floor pan, common to the 190A and 400A is there;
> Although rusty, I suspect that there are few rusted through panels;
> Wood replacement is usually a given on a leather-back;
> Hard to find window mechanisms are there;
> Sandblasting will make this car look much better for restoration.
> If the Murray body number tag is on the firewall, it is a valuable bonus. If not, a body number can derived from the Victoria Associations record of surviving 190As.
This 190A is over-priced, and should be about $2500.

so Bob, what will most likely happen is a rodder will buy it for a bit more, lose the fenders and put metal framing in. dont see anyone restoring this car in the condition it is in.

would be too much of a loss.

I hope this 190A does not turn into a Rod. Because of the 190A's wood body rails, rodding one is expensive.

I also think a rod guy will end up with it.That is a very desirable car for rodders.They will step up and pay the price,where a lot of A guys won't.The A guys usually spend time shopping around for the car they want at the price they want.The rod guys will set out to build a car,and they are interested in buying right now,not when they find a bargain.The wood is not an issue for rod guys,it mostly gets replaced with steel,I saw a rod guy make and install a beautiful set of subrails in a cabriolet,they were made and tacked in before we went to lunch.When you don't have to conform to original you can cut dozens of hours off of fitting.

If one can’t do the woodwork (leatherback is really tough) and has to have much done professionally and don’t mind putting $70k into it then it’s a viable project !
I’ve worked on several and know the agony of a leatherback

I do agree with Keith as above. This is a rod project imho
