Default 39 std DIY headliner? Who's and how was it?

I'm getting ready to attack the interior on my recent 39 std tudor acquisition. While I have a pro trimmer on staff at the shop I don't want to take up her time any more than needed so I want to buy one. If you've done this and installed it, who's did you use and how was it? I have several sources, not the least of which is LeBaron Bonney, but several of my jobbers offer headliners for just about everything. It's a hot rod, will never go back to stock (was a 60), and I'm doing something a bit custom for the seats and panels. The headliner will be cloth and close to an OEM type. Looking forward to your replies and thanks in advance. And yes I did a search but...

For my '36 coupe,I ordered one from Cartouche (through Mac's). Difficulty rating was about a 5. It fit perfectly....no wrinkles...nice and snug.It seems that it was around $200. Money well spent. I have a machine that I used to upholster the seat and door panels with, so I know my limitations.Had I tackled sewing the headliner myself,It would've been a complete mess.

Installed a headliner from J.C.Whitney about 18 yrs ago in our '41. Fit was excellent but instructions were useless. Our front and rear windows were out which greatly aided installation. That said, it is a project which took my wife and I 12 hrs to do and get it correct.

I bought one from Mac's for my 40 Coupe. It was a bit of a struggle for a couple of old guys that had never done one before but looks good now that it is installed.

I figured for about $200 I didn't have much to loose and if I did it again I probably would go about it a bit differently but it was well worth the effort.

Got mine from LeBaron Bonney and was very happy with it. It had good instructions and turned out very well. My wife and i had never done one before. Used a steamer to get the wrinkles out.

I forgot to mention, you do not have to get original upholstery from LeBaron Bonney now. They have pretty much anything you want. They have arm rests with ash trays in them etc.
