Question front motor mount question

While removing the engine from my 28 RPU I found a solid mount to the front cross member, it looks factory, but unfamiliar to me. Was this standard for a 28 car or truck?
Thanks Tim

Yes, that is original. Many have been cut and had the newer style mount installed, but you have a rare original.

Review this article for a unerstanding of the part itself...

Be glad you still have the original solid mount and no one cut the crossmember. Your front engine cover however should have the WIDE mounting pad as this picture shows. You'll be OK for now, but keep looking for the correct cover, in case you want to change it someday.

Thanks for the information everyone. learn something new every day, especially with these cars. Now I'll have to be on the lookout for a new front cover.
