The top one was in Touring Class judging; the second one was in Fine Point and the third one, the Maroon/Red one, is owned by a guy out of PA. The 150-A was also in Touring Class. -Tim |

Re: Model A commercial vehicles picture thread!!
I'm new on this forum and I'm about to start restoring a 1930 Sedan Delivery for a friend. The van is in Buenos Aires Argentina, it's RHD assembled in Argentina, engine #3685341 (June 1930).
Can anybody please tell me if it's a 79B or a 130B? |

Re: Model A commercial vehicles picture thread!!
As Vince said it is not a 130B but a delivery van probably built by Ford in Argentina and based on the Tudor Sedan 55B. Here in New Zealand they were called a Tudor Delivery. I have seen other pictures of very similar vehicles in other countries, all based on the Tudor.

It's probably based on the Tudor, but the rear panel it not the same as the Tudor, it's missing the moulding around where the window would have been, it's flat.

Re: Model A commercial vehicles picture thread!!
Here is an interesting one that I just found this past weekend.
Notice the oval window in the back panel. The one in this picture certainly looks longer in the rear than the ones pictured above. The rear corner seems to hang further off the back fender than the other ones pictured. -Tim |

Re: Model A commercial vehicles picture thread!!
The photos you show are the factory Deluxe Delivery; '28,'29's have the Tudor sized body but the side window mouldings & top beading are further back than on the Tudor.
The '30.'31 DD had a longer body than the Tudor & some late ones had a 'dropped'floor area at the rear door. Your Tudor delivery is a legitimate Ford type & were a cheaper conversion in many foreign markets. They were also done in the US ; a batch were done in '28 for Milwaukee City Authority.Yours has the earlier narrow rear door opening & filled side window; some retain the window & others have a board filler but with the opening.I tend to now think the door was a supplied kit [Briggs?] & it was then fitted by the Ford branch or export agent. There are only 2 rear door widths seen & bodies are cut to fit either, always in the same fashion.. Also there are L & R opening, for LHD/RHD with some having the 'wrong'' door. They maybe one of the rarest Model A Ford types. |

So presumably the body was made by Briggs, or only the door kit? Do they have a name and type number? When you say they may be one of the rarest Model A Ford, do you mean all these vans or the ones with the "wrong" doors?

Re: Model A commercial vehicles picture thread!!
Hi Ropat
Briggs did provide a conversion kit to Ford in US & Canada which would have been at least the door & instructions for fitting etc. I have seen photos of rear door Tudors up to the 1936 flatback Tudor. First ones appear in 1928 before the release of the Deluxe Delivery. Also it is not to say that other conversions were done by body shops making up a door ie. not from a supplied kit. After all these years of commercial abuse, it would be hard to know the exact origins of a Tudor delivery. Here in New Zealand, they were known as the Commercial Tudor Delivery by the NZ agent for Ford Canada [ no Ford NZ until late '36]. They are very rare here, I know of only one restored & in mobile condition.I recall one or two in 1960's, all rough or only bodies of, usually with the rear door missing. The body numbers here are 4F..... which shows they started as a Tudor. You may find a number on the steel member in front & below of passengers seat [ on floor] but I have heard that the Sth American cars do not have a body number even though manufactured in US. Being Tudors, the bodies were not made by Briggs, [they are a Ford built body] but the door kit was developed by Briggs. Regarding rarity, it is only my opinion; do you know of another in Argentina?? Actually, there are a few in US [ maybe 4 or 5,also a few fordor types known as 'flower cars''] which appears more than anywhere else. Most 'foreign'markets were small so cars new & ones still surviving will be minimal. The largest numbers of any Model A's are in US & Argentina & other Sth american territories. Hope this is of help. Re: Model A commercial vehicles picture thread!!
I would like to add nice picture of commercial vehicles. I am interested in the 28-29 delivery that looks like it may have a insert over a window with company name, I know ford offered a windowed delivery thru fleet services to companys 28-29. I am hoping you may have more information for the picture posted. I know there has been past posts on windowed delivery. I am looking for any information. Again nice pictures
