Default 37 ford vibrating on take off

Hello, I purchased a 37 ford pickup. The truck vibrates bad when taking off. I have adjusted the clutch and it seems to be grabbing as soon as you let out on it. I was talking to a friend on mine who has owned a few of these cars. He said there is suppose to be brackets going from the back of the engine to the frame. I do not see anything like that on this truck. I was wondering if anyone has a picture of what he is talking about.

Anti Chatter Rods connect from the transmission to the frame. On a 1937 Ford the forward tips of the anti chatter rods can be seen poking out of the front of the transmission case on either side, held on by a castle nut and a cotter pin. The chatter rods connect to the frame by a large screw with a square hole. Photo shows an anti chatter rod connected to a Ford Frame. The other photo shows an anti chatter rod.

Beside the lack of anti-chatter rods, No. 1, other areas you may look at are the motor mount cushions both at the front and rear (transmission rear bearing retainer) you want the mounting bolts & nuts to be tight and the rubber to be firm. Then the clutch plate, between the friction linings is a plate of spring metal that should slightly push the friction linings outward, without the spring plate working properly the clutch will grab and release quickly. Watch what happens to the motor when the clutch is depressed, it should not move forward and rearward with the pedal action.

Another cause is oil on the clutch plate, which most likely comes from oil running along the input shaft, if the gearbox is overfull (made more likely if parked nose down hill)

The reaction rubbers on the bottom of the engine mounts are also important
