Re: Lt. Niagra Blue color
While this (photos below) is not a coupe, the colors are Duchess Blue on the body and Niagra Blue Light on the belt. These two colors were only available for 1928 production cars, and then only for the open cars, coupes, Tudors & Taxis. You must refer to the MARC/MAFCA Restoration Guidelines for detailed information as to which cars originally used that color and the rest of the trim scheme.
When I restored my '28 Phaeton in 1979, the 'Standards' of the time (not now however) allowed an optional reversal of the two blues: Duchess Blue on the body & Niagra Blue light on the belt. And that reversal was the color combination I preferred over the standard color combination; so I painted my '28 Phaeton with a Duchess Blue body. While not now recognized for other cars, reversing the colors is still accepted as an option available to 1928 & '29 Taxis. Otherwise, the correct color for the body is Niagra Blue, either Light or Dark. Of course, not every one needs to be pushed around by the Guidelines. We are all free to chose whatever color we want for our cars, even if the car did not originally come with a particular color. But for '28 open cars, coupes & Tudors, it really is a beautiful color. Clicking on photo will enlarge it. P.S. - That's our home in the background - an 1887 Eastlake Victorian. - Doug Vieyra, Eureka, Calif Last edited by DougVieyra; 03-11-2015 at 02:52 AM. |

Re: Lt. Niagra Blue color
Here you go: Niagra Blue and Duchess Blue. I have scanned in all the MAFCA color chips. So I can use Lightwave to render any color you combination you would like. BTW since I can control the lights used in the scene render, they are all pure white with no color bias.
