Default Generator pulley casting

Dear experts, my generator pulley failed (shown). Bought the wrong one on eBay. The wrong one is a different taper, and the hole (on the yellow paper side) is too large on the wrong one. What is the right item and where can I buy it? Billy

Snyder's (as I'm sure other vendors do) has new ones if you can not find a used one. https://www.snydersantiqueauto.com/p...6052&cat=41710

Snyders has the adapter Ford used to mount a short nose pulley on a
long nose armature. https://www.snydersantiqueauto.com/p...6061&cat=41710

NOTE this is not aimed at any one person.

Most Model A parts dealers that I have know for the last 60 years would have asked you which generator you had and sent you the correct pulley.

This is why I buy parts from known dealers and never buy on ebay ... unless I am sure that I am buying the correct part AND I am sure they guy selling knows the difference AND is telling the truth..

Did you know that not all REPRO parts are same as what Ford put on the car?

Recently I found out that there are at least 8 manufacturers of Clutch disks.

Some work better than others.

With clutch disks if you get a bad one you have to do the job all over again

Not an easy job!

This is another reason to buy from a dealer who knows the difference. I wonder how many Ebayers know the difference.

OR MAYBE they are selling the part because they know it is bad and it does not work very well.

Cheap is not always a good deal!

Please inspect your parts carefully before installation. While running my A in the garage, the pulley broke and sent the outer edge (like the one in the picture} into the sheet rock. Fortunately, I was not in front of it when it broke. Some of these parts are 90 years old.

I second that. Metal fatigue comes knocking eventually on most of these cars. My gooseneck broke that way, just got done putting a new head gasket on and got back to my carport and got ready to retorque the head. turned my back on it to grab a torque wrench and I hear a cracking sound, and I look back just in time to see coolant seeping out the crack where the gooseneck ear broke off. Think how old these cars are, they are going to have tired metal somewhere in them.

Thumbs up Re: Generator pulley casting

Thanks, experts - I bought the right part from Bert's in Englewood, Colorado. I'll install it tomorrow and should be rolling for the Memorial Day parade.
Thanks, everyone.
