Default One more question - Hub puller - Model A ?

I picked up the hub puller pictured below. It has the markings 'A100' and 'UMS732' on the side. The bolt thread is 5/8-18 and the opening is a bit larger than 5/8" The length of the body is 2-1/2" long and with the bolt backed out all the way, the overall length is 4".

Any idea what it might have been used for - maybe Model A ?

Thanks,
-Bob

It is very similar to a Ford 5Z-1705 puller used with an adapter ring on Model A, but of course it's not Ford supplied without that number, and from the look of it it may well be a little small to lock onto a Ford hub.
Bratton's sells a very similar puller for Ford use, a copy of an aftermarket copy of the 5Z.

Why not post pictures on Model A forum for quick answer.

Looks more like the one for the 26-27 Model T wire wheel hums. pictured below are the ones for the Model A. The one marked 29-32, will work on the 37-39 hubs also if you are careful. Rod

Rowdy's aftermarket pullers are virtually identical to the 5Z and also the ones Bratton's supplies.
The Ford one was actually made for the AA, and could be had with a sort of horseshoe shaped adapter to hook it into the Model A (and V8) hub.

I have been looking for the 5Z version for quite awhile. One was on e-bay about the time I was layed off from the Tenneco as they closed up the plant I was working in for near 18 years. I have not been a contender for one since. Borrowing one would be nice, so I could pull the drums off of the 3 AA rearends to see what I can salvage from the brakes and diff assemblies. I have tried alernative methogs with no success so far. Rod
